WHISKY TOURS

Ardgowan Lodge, Beauly

Elizabeth Brown and Peter Redsell provide a warm Highland welcome to the lovely Ardgowan Lodge, situated just outside the pretty little town of Beauly, with its 13th century priory and river. Part of a former Victorian coach house and stables, the Lodge sits peacefully in two acres of secluded formal gardens.

Tastefully converted and elegantly furnished Ardgowan offers comfort and hospitality at its very best. Beauly is a real alternative to staying in the city of Inverness, only eight miles away.

We are sure that you will be captivated by the large residents' lounge with woodburner and exposed beams, the delightful bedrooms and beautiful gardens. All the bedrooms are comfortably furnished, have en-suite or private bathrooms, central heating, colour television and tea and coffee making facilities. Enjoy delicious home cooking at its very best and "Bide a While" in this most glorious part of Scotland.

Loch Ness with its fathomless unresolved mysteries, and Castle Urquart (the only place where Nessie is ever seen) are only ten miles away.

The whole area is a haven for wildlife. Deer, Red Squirrels, Golden Eagles, Red Kite and Buzzards are frequently seen, whilst the really lucky guest may get a daytime sighting of Pine Marten in the garden.

The keen golfer will find championship courses at Nairn and Royal Dornoch, the 6th oldest course in the world and regularly rated in the world's top 20, with numerous other courses as well, all in the immediate locality and easily accessible.

For the more energetic, the area is a haven for walkers, cyclists, golfers and fishermen, with some of Scotlands most scenic and spectacular Glens waiting to be explored. Some of the best salmon and trout fishing in the whole of Scotland is to be had on the River Beauly, not a mile from Ardgowan Lodge. Follow the river to its source in Glen Affric, one of Scotlands most scenic glens, with glittering lochs, majestic mountains and the oldest Caledonian Pine forest in Scotland. Not for the faint hearted, Glen Affric and Glen Strathfarrer boast no less than eighteen Munros, mountains over 3,000 feet. Big hills in a particularly beautiful corner of the Scottish Highlands.

Bed and Breakfast starts from only £20.00 per person.
