On arriving at Moorfield House you will receive the warmest of welcomes as a 'House Guest' at this luxurious Highland home. Moorfield House is situated in the centre of Boat of Garten, a quiet Highland village, which is less than 30 minutes away from Inverness. Boat of Garten is ideally situated in the Highlands of Scotland and is easily accessible from all major routes whether by car, rail or air. |

After undergoing major refurbishment, Moorfield House, offers modern day amenities tastefully integrated into the style of the Victorian period. The pitch pine woodwork in the hallway has been stripped of layers of paint to reveal its former splendour, the front door still retains its' original etched glass. The residents lounge with rich red walls, gilt framed pictures, high ceilings and original fireplace is purposely free from a television set, thus allowing conversation to flow or a quiet spot to be found. Whether catching up on your reading or to just contemplate the days events, the comfortable sofas are just waiting to supply the perfect end to your busy day. |

Each one of the individually furnished bedrooms is named after a particular tartan, these being the Moffat, Ferguson, Lindsay, Stewart and Buchanan. This forms the theme for each room. Bold use of wall colours and fabrics all tastefully combine to create an air of comfort and luxury. Each bedroom has an en-suite shower room, Remote controlled colour television, clock/radio alarm, hairdryer and welcome tray. For those who find stairs a problem, there is a double bedroom on the ground floor. |

Why not sample one of the many Speyside Malt whiskies, whilst perhaps, toasting your toes in front of the crackling open fire. If organizing your next day's excursions, a good selection of maps, books and local visitor information are always available in the bookcase. You can get advice on local walks and beauty spots, so that you get the most from your stay in the area. Breakfast and Dinner are served in the intimate Dining Room, with the same red walls as the Lounge and soft lighting which helps to imbue a relaxed atmosphere. |

CUISINE Moorfield House take great pride in the quality of the cuisine. They endeavour to use local produce and suppliers; Venison from the Rothiemurchus Estate, Salmon from the Strathspey Smokehouse, local Butchers who makes their own Haggis, Black pudding and sausages and who also supply meats; Aberdeen Angus Beef, Scottish Lamb etc. One of the specialties is in recreating traditional puddings. This may be your opportunity to sample for the first time, puddings such as; Granny's Leg, Apple Dappy pudding, Lord Randall's pudding or the extremely popular and totally decadent, Luxury Bread and Butter pudding. All evening meals are prepared and cooked to order, therefore ensuring that all of the meals are of the quality and standard expected. On offer is a set, four course, evening meal and the sample menu shown below is an indication of a typical evening meal served at Moorfield House. Resident’s Bar Licensed to serve alcoholic drinks to guests Moorfiled have a good selection of Speyside single malt whiskies, some of which you may not have discovered before. The wine list includes wines from France, Australia, South America and Spain. The wines offer good value for money, without compromising on quality. |
